Big greeting party at Chennai's inner harbor

Dear Friends and Family,

The winds held up for most of the evening but they slowly died away and by about 2:30am we had to start motoring. We got to the mouth of the harbor at about noon and were escorted in by a stern faced police boat and a smiling representative of the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association, who are our hosts. Entrance formalities were almost non-existent and handled by the TNSA.

We've found everyone here to be extremely welcoming. It turns out that we're only the second cruising catamaran ever to visit Chennai - the first being "Out of the Bag" which arrived 2 days ago. A lunch was laid on for us, we've been taken shopping, and now we're about to be taken to dinner at the local Cricket Club. All very fun.

We'll write more as life unfolds, but we wanted to get this out quickly.
