We'd like to say Carolyn and Lexi flew down from the rigors of the Nova Scotia winter to visit us, but the truth is they had, unbeknownst to us, come to St. Martin to escape the Canadian maritime winter and we were mutually surprised to run into one another after almost 10 years!  We had many great weekends together on Ocelot and Carolyn helped tremendously with small boat projects and shore-side transportation.

We originally met Carolyn when she was on our first boat, "Oriental Lady", back in 1981.  We saw her occasionally throughout the 1980's as our sailing paths crossed.  In 1989 Carolyn and her husband stayed with Sue's parents on Whidbey Island where Lexi was born, and we last saw Carolyn and Lexi in Sausalito in the early 1990's.  What a wonderful surprise to run into them at the little St. Martin Yacht Club by Simpson Bay in March!

Lexi and Amanda were glad of same-age company and took in a movie every Friday night while we parents hung out at the "Yacht Club" (4 shipping containers on the edge of the lagoon with a rain/sun cover).  Often Carolyn and Lexi stayed with us for the whole weekend including the Great Easter Event when we hosted 9 adults and 8 kids for brunch.
